Covid-19, known as the Corona Virus, is making a massive impact on a global scale. Around the world there are mass quarantines, factory closures, events are getting canceled, and lives are being forever changed. The tech world is being especially impacted, since many of the parts and finished electronic goods are made in the People's Republic of China, supply chains are also getting impacted. GIGABYTE Notebooks USA is dedicated to keeping you up to date with the latest news on a very fluid situation.
With some of the world's largest consumer electronic and industry trade shows being canceled in hopes of preventing the spread of the virus, we're observing a shift in how to proceed forward. Conventions like GDC have been canceled, Nvidia's GTC has been made an online event. Many laptop manufacturers are expecting long delays in their new releases and refreshes of models. As of right now, GIGABYTE Notebooks is able to fulfill through a good portion of 2020, and we're monitoring the situation on a daily basis.
What does this mean for you, the consumer? If you've recently upgraded your system or purchased a new laptop, you're in great shape. However, if you've been deliberating and trying to decide if you should upgrade now or wait it out, experts (outside of GIGABYTE Notebooks) are saying to take the leap now and get your tech upgraded. Why? Because as mentioned above, the solution is very very fluid, no one actually knows how things will play out, what supply chains will look like by the end of 2020 and what demand will hit those who are able to deliver product.
Linus Tech Talks gives a very good explanation of the situation at hand, and since he's unaffiliated with GIGABYTE Notebooks, we wanted to share some real talk that will help you make your decision without our personal bias.
